Leaving the Beach

I hate leaving the beach. It makes me sad. But there are new adventures to be had. It is starting to hit me that we will be in the UK within the next week. It is going to be hard to leave this time as we will be leaving the pups behind until March when they are clear to come into the UK rabies free. Thankfully, my mother is able to keep the pups for me. I am not sure I could leave them if she wasn't able to take care of them. Those dogs love my mom and the farm and the free running.

ANYWAY, about the beach. We had a fantastic time in our little beach cabin for a week. It was cold cold cold; in the 40s and 50s the whole time, and cloudy too! But that didn't stop us. We bundled up and enjoyed a relatively empty beach. It was super fun. The Little Bean who is still in her dress obsessed phase refuses to wear pants. We dressed her in her dress, added tights or sweatpants, a sweater and jacket. She looked like a rainbow of crazy colors, but she was warm and happy. There is also an embargo on socks for our daughter. She insists they make her shoes too tight.

Despite the cold the Little Bean still managed to get wet everytime she went to the beach. She would either be too slow to get of the range of the waves or she would find a tidepool. THEN she would insist that she wasn't cold and ask to continue playing. We usually let her play for a little bit then took her home and put her in a warm bath. It seemed to work out okay, except for all of her wet sandy clothes were hanging all over the front porch.

The Baby Bean only went to the beach a couple of times as it was super windy. We took him out when the sun decided to come out. He really really liked the sand. He was so excited to touch it and then, ultimately, eat it.

  1. I love the crazy clothes. With the exception of that HORRIBLE sweatshirt!
