Dartmoor National Park

We recently ventured to the higher elevations, "1200 ft" for a hike on the moors. It was fantastic. Cold, windy, and muddy, but fantastic! It was 5 degrees C which turns out to be about to be about 41. The Little Bean refused to wear a jacket, hat, gloves, or even pants under her dress. After about ten minutes of walking on the trail she changed her tune and got all dressed up for the weather. On the way back, she chose to stop and wade through all the mudpuddles. She was a feezing wet mess by the time we finally made it to the car. Regardless, she was in a great mood.

One quick amusing story about the language difference even between two countries speaking English. We were looking at houses yesterday and I was chatting with the realtor. The Little Bean came in and was telling the lady about how we had to leave the store earlier that morning because whe was being naughty and had a fit on the floor of the store. The realtor got all upset as she believed that a "fit" was a seizure. I guess we will have to start calling them tantrums in order to avoid misunderstandings in the future.

The Baby Bean is still working on figuring out the details of walking. He cruises all over the furniture shouting, "bah bah bah bah." He also likes to stand up on his own and then squat down and pick things up. He generally has good balance until he gets excited and starts laughing or looks up at us to see if we are watching him. Then he plops back down on the floor. I anticipate him walking any day now. He even cruises from one piece of furniture to another.
My only problem with him these days is that he hates babyfood. It is a battle to get him to eat a tiny jar of ANYTHING. We are forced to employ every trick we have ever learned from choo choo trains, airplanes, helicopters etc etc. He either wants to drink his milk with fruit and cereal mixed in or eat real food. He loves to eat bread, his sister's mac and cheese, pieces of vegetables or fruits that are NOT chopped and mushed up. He is a wierd kid, just like his wierd sister.

  1. It is so beautiful! I continue with my jealousy and of course, excitement to come visit! I am happy to hear the Beans are assimilating nicely. Hugs to all.
