Missed Photo Ops

For the past couple of days our camera has been MIA. It is a bit frustrating as we have had some really great things to photograph.
Today we went out to Exmoor National Park for a little look around. It was different from Dartmoor as the landscape varied more. It went from coastal trails with cliffs and whatnot to high moors to low valleys and forests. It was pretty cool. We didn't get a chance to look around quite as much as we did on the trip to Dartmoor but we anticipate additional trips up there for hiking.

What we did was tour a CASTLE! The Little Bean was beside herself with excitement when she saw the castle on the hill and realized we were going to go inside. During the walk up she insisted on retelling the story of Rapunzel over and over again. She even decided which tower was the princesses prison. Of course the story ended up with Prince Daddy saving the day. The castle was pretty cool. We also had the chance to go into a church that part of it was built in TEN AD! Seriously! By the Normans. The largest part was built in the 13th century. There were three trunks from the time of Henry the second. They held valuable items belonging to the church and had five locks on them. Five different people in the church each held a key so that to open the trunck each person had to be there and agree to whatever they were opening the trunk for. The wierd thing was that the trunks were just sitting out in the church and could be touched by the tourists.

Too bad there are no photos. We did find the camera so we hope to be able to document our next adventure and share.
