Too Much

How you know you have been traveling too much:

Me: Sophia, we have to get our stuff packed up to go home tomorrow.
Soph: Mama, where is my home?
Me: Remember the house with the pond, that is our home.
Soph: Oh.
I think we may have to slow down things a bit to let my poor little girl get things sorted out in her head.

How you know your daughter watches too many princess movies:
We had just finished watching The Wizard of Oz...

Soph: Mama, is the show over?
Me: Yes, did you like it?
Soph: Is Princess Dorothy going to get married to Prince Daddy?
Me: No sweetheart, she isn't going to get married, she is just happy to be back home with her family.
Soph: Oh.

unrelated, but funny. While watching the Wizard of Oz the Little Bean got a bit scared when they were going to the witches castle to save Dorothy. She was holding my hand and said, "Mama, maybe me no want to watch this show any more."

Apparently no noe knew much about this area until a nasty fire burned all the grasses up and the wind blew the topsoil away and exposed all sorts of housing foundations, pots, etc. Then the excavating began. According to the literature there is still loads to uncover, but are not going to do it now.


Near the castle ruins there is a very old church. The plaque said it was orginally built 1400 YEARS AGO! You can to the math on that one.
Inside the church is some really wierd stuff to include this alter thing with really creepy, not very christian looking faces carved on them... Anyway, the tombstone above was on the wall. It is interesting to read because of the old english. Very interesting.
