We're Back....I Hope

We believe we have resolved many of the internet issues.
Updates:

--The Baby Bean was fitted for his first pair of shoes. He was so cute getting his little feet measured. The craziest thing was that those shoes cost $35.00!! This is the first and LAST time we purchase shoes on the local economy. The shoes are super cute and he really likes them. He loves that he can walk around outside now. He is always on the move these days!

--We have begun to employ the "cry it out" process to get him to sleep in his own bed. This has NOT been a pleasent experience. I think we were totally spoiled with his sister who is a sleeping CHAMPION. He is doing much better, but thanks to his stubborness (you can blame whichever relative you wish for this) it is a pretty difficult process. The only positive thing is that The Husband and I are finally getting some sleep.

--The Little Bean has started to be obsessed with telling stories. She also loves to hear stories that her parents make up for her. Recently, I wanted to comb her hair and told her that there was a rat's nest in her hair and I needed to get the rats out. She refused so I threw out the idea that if we didn't get the rats out they might poo in her hair. She thought for a moment and then informed me that the rats were her friends. They even helped her make the dress she was wearing, just like Cinderella. I asked about the poo and she explained that there poo was magical and went directly from her hair to the potty. The more questions I asked, the more elaborate the story got. Needless to say, I did NOT brush her hair that day. She earned a reprieve for such a fantastic imagination.

--It appears as though many of the people living in the area have never seen a person running with a double jogging stroller. That or we just look so crazy every single person stares and even POINTS at us when we run on the boardwalk by the beach. Above is a photo of the kids as we were prepping for our run. Do we look so crazy that people would point and stare? The Husband insists that it was because of what I was wearing. :) I was only wearing a white beanie hat, red shirt, green running tights, and green and orange shorts. I may have also been wearing rainbow colored gloves too. Maybe they were just looking at me.

--The birds have decided to LOVE my birdfeeders. We have recently been getting a bird I have never ever seen before. They are large and have super odd markings. We finally asked a friend who told us they were magpies birds. They are super cool and the Brits have a lot of superstitions connected to them. Lots of people even salute if they only see one bird as one is bad luck. The rhyme goes: One brings sadness, two brings joy, three bring a girl, and four bring a boy. This relating to being pregnant.

--The Husband has been traveling up to Scotland recently. He has to go up again soon and the kids and I are going to drive up and meet him near the end of the operation and then do a little tour of the area. I want to see Hadrian's wall and LOCH NESS!!

  1. So glad to see you back (fingers crossed) and love all the Beanie updates. Jealous of LOCH NESS. And wait until those magpies have 2 black dogs to welcome them, hehehe.
