Donkey Sanctuary

We went to the local donkey sanctuary on Saturday. I didn't even realize that there were enough donkeys here who needed sanctuary, but there were loads of them at the sanctuary. Retired donkeys, abused donkeys, abandoned donkeys, etc. The interesting thing about these guys was that they were SO SO SO sweet and loved to be petted and loved on. The ones who didn't want to be bothered, simply didn't come over to see us, the majority of them came over for a scratch behind the ears.

The Little Bean insisted the donkeys were horses and was super excited to pet each and every one of them. she also insisted on my reading their collars to tell her their names and also reading the little bits of info about each donkey on the side of the various barns and fences.

This was a FANTASTIC visit and we hope to go again in the spring. AND even better, it is less than a 30 minute drive from our house.
