Taken Prisoner!

This photo is not related to the story below, but is a cute little pic from when were were out gardening.

The Little Bean has been developing her knot tying skills lately. She is now quite adept at tying her beaded necklaces together to make a long necklace rope. We have about a million bead necklaces thanks to our travel to Mardi Gras back in 2008. Her latest effort included the making of the longest necklace roper ever! She strung loads of necklaces together, hooked one end to her dining room chair and pulled the end of the rope outside. The Husband and I watched her surreptitiously to see what she would do next and we weren't disappointed. The crazy kid lured Cash over to the door and then looped her rope around his neck. She informed him that she had taken him prisoner and that he now belonged to her. Cash didn't seem to care so we let it go for a while. Later, after I freed the poor dog, Sophie strung her necklace rope low to the floor in the dining room and attempted to trip Cash in order to catch him again. When this didn't work, she insisted that her father and I walk past the booby trap and pretend to trip. Once we were on the ground she used a different necklace to handcuff us and declared us her prisoners.
The kid has a serious imagination.

Unrelated photo and story...
The photo above is of the pond in our front yard. I LOVE this pond and spend way too much time cleaning it and treating it for algae and whatnot. The only downside is that whenever I work out in the front yard, the kids are drawn straight to the pond. The Little Bean tries to catch tadpoles and newts and her brother just wants to throw rocks into the water; rocks that I have to fish out! Anyway we were recently out working in the front yard and I was fishing the dead leaves and whatnot out of the pond to clean it up. While netting the detritus I always manage to get a critter that has to be put back into the water. The Little Bean noticed a leech and when she found out what it was she was OBSESSED! She doesn't call it a leech, rather she says, "blood" then makes a slurping sound.
So there me was cleaning the pond when the inevitable happened...Hank fell into water. I pulled him out of the "drink" right away and he was fine except for the lingering smell of pond in his hair! :)
