New Pool

We got our annual swimming pool recently. We promised Sophia we would get a pool "in the summer" and everyday the temps were above 65 she insisted that it was summer. Finally, after the one thousand, six hundred and twenty third time she asked us about it, we got the pool.
The child was so excited that she was trying to swim in it as we filled it up. The water was COLD! Her father finally insisted she get out when her lips took on a bluish tinge and she couldn't stop shivering. We brought her inside fed her warm milk and wrapped her up. As soon as her body temps got back to normal she begged to get back in.
notice how she is squatting on just her tippy tippy toes. The water was frigid!
She insisted on checking the water level periodically and when it reached this height she was super excited. This is the point when she refused to get out. (It reminded me of a time a certain "Booker" refused to exit Balshoi Almatinsky lake during a camping/hiking trip) anyway, the child refused to get out of the pool until Daddy hauled her out like a frozen Sophie-icicle.

Today Cashy and I ran six miles in 75 degree weather with NO clouds, only the sun beating down. (in the UK that is REALLY hot) When we got home, I took of my shoes and jumped into the pool. I am unable to put into words just how wonderful the cool water felt after that run. Before I knew it both kids were clamoring to get into the pool. Hanko came in first, then his sister insisted on jumping in wearing her dress because I had my clothes on. Silly guys. Daddy looked at the three of us like we were crazy and ran off to get the camera. I know that if they didn't have long knife-like toe nails, the dogs would have been in there swimming around too.

  2. You'd think Booker would be tired of the lake scene... but no. In fact the dog swims around the lake and me and Zoey walk around. He's the Michael Phelps in dog swimming.

You guys look great... are you training for a marathon? :)
