Beany Adventures: County Fair / Show

A few weeks ago we attended the county fair. They call it a county show here in the UK but...

There was a group of bag pipers playing on the stage. Even though they were playing mainly marches and other slow stuff, the kids though it would be appropriate to dance about wildly. It was music afterall, and all music must be danced to.

I know this one is blurry, but just had to show how Hank got into the pipes!

Her Majesty's military had an area set up as well. The Daddy took them though the equipment and showed them all the cool stuff. He even strapped them into the seats. The kids loved it.

There was also a tracked vehicle open for the kids to play in.

The livestock area was our favorite. There were zillions of sheep, goats, horses, cows, pigs, etc. They were all there for the competition and while everyone was allowed to walk around a see them, the owners were super duper serious and focused on the competition. Hank loves animals and wanted to pet and love each and every critter he could reach.

He used his gymnastics training to traverse the fences to see all the animals from above.

Soph liked the critters, but saved her energy and time for the horses. There were horse shows, dressage, jumping, races, etc. We managed to happen upon a pony cart race. There were two matched ponies pulling a little cart carrying two people. They raced around all sorts of obstacles at high speeds. We were all quite impressed.

Birds of prey are pretty cool too. Hank REALLY REALLY wanted to cross the tiny little fence and love on the birds. Of course they would have taken his fingers, but he was unconcerned.
