Me Turn!!!

If you are sick of horses, you should probably take a break from the blog for the next couple of years.  Horses and horsey school are a pretty big deal around here these days.  Mermaid school (swim school) starts tomorrow, so there may be a respite from the horses.

The picture above is of my favorite horse.  This is Ted, the shire horse/race horse cross.  Love his personality, his coloring, his everything.  He is so sweet.  The funniest thing is when he has an itch on his ear and I scratch it, he rubs against my hand but he is so strong he nearly knocks me over.

Soph and Hank waiting on Sarry, her horse of the day.

Soph shows Hank how to get on; reins in the left hand, foot in the stirrup, and go!

As Soph went off on Sarry, Hank cried and yelled, "ME TURN!"  Not for a few more months little one.

Soph doesn't really care for the sit and trot as she thinks it is too bouncy.  She does better at the rise and trot but hasn't gotten it down yet so she looks more like she is flopping around all crazy as the horse trots along.

Hank and Daddy had to stand and watch.  I have tried to get the Daddy to go on a ride with me and have a little romatic picnic but he is 100% against it.  Oh well, I guess it is just me and the kids who love horses.

Sophia and Sarry waiting their turn to trot.

Soph is showing Hank how to do a change of rein.  There are so many things wrong with her form in this photo.  Hands touching the saddle, not sitting up straight, toes pointing down!  Granted this is only her third lesson, but still!!

Showing her horse lead how to open her reins to show the horse which way to turn.

Rise and trot/bobble around like a crazy person.  She really really needs a properly fitting helmet.

  1. I have to admit that I spend way more time reading blogs than I should. Your blog (even with tons of horses) is my favorite!! I find it amazing how quickly the two little beans are growing. Keep up the great work!!!!
