Frisbee Drama

We went looking for a park today and while we failed to find the park, we did find a nice place for fishing this spring. It was a nameless river, with a place to park the car and trails to walk to fishing spots. We let the Puppy Bean go free, and for the first time ever, he was perfectly behaved. He ran ahead, and then came back to walk with us for a bit. It was so nice! He and his sister played and jumped on each other and just had a fantastic time.

As we were walking along the trail we noticed that the river was frozen in spots. The Big Bean was splashing all around so we threw the frisbee. It landed on the ice, then skidded towards the middle of the river. The Big Bean swam and broke the ice as much as she could but couldn't get to the frisbee. At one point we had an awful scare when she got stuck in the ice and silt of the river for a minute. When she freed herself, we tried to make her stop and leave the frisbee, but she kept going back again and again. Finally, the Husband started throwing huge rocks to break the ice. He walked them up the ice to the frisbee. He made a nice little trail of broken ice right up to the frisbee and the Big Bean was able to swim out to it and then hustle back to the shore. It was crazy. My heart was in my throat the whole time. Thanks to the Husband, all was well with the world! :)

Don't you love his hat!

I found this vine and decided that I wanted to sit on it, of course the curve was super high and I had to wiggle up there. The Husband thought it was pretty funny and took this photo of me climbing and laughing and being goofy!

  2. He bought it in Uzbekistan from some super street savy little Uzbek kid. They haggled for about a hundred years over the price.
