President's Day Hike
We went on a super fun hike today and our friend M came with us. It was a great muddy hike that followed a river which the dogs loved and splashed all around. We found clams along the bank of the river and all ended up with stinky hands because we had to pick them up and inspect them. The Little Bean had a fabulous time screeching and kicking the daddy in the back while riding like a princess in a palaquin.
By the time we made it back to the car we were covered in mud, tired and hungry. So we went to the cracker barrel for a late lunch. THEN, we decided to look around the area at a local battlefield. It was amazing and M is full of random bits of information. She gave us a class on the different generals, thier history and the outcomes of the battles. She even knew of family members of hers who had fought on the actual battlefield.
All in all is was a great day!
We found this tree along the trail and decided that it was a woodpecker training ground. Where woodpeckers learn how to peck.
We took a quick break and let the dogs play in the water here. They were so wet and tired by the end of the hike. I think everyone will sleep well tonight. While we were taking a break, I found this cool vine and messed around swinging on it while M and the Husband heckled me and hoped it would break. But it didn't and I got to swing all over!
The Big Bean thought it looked like fun and chased me while I was swinging. She bit the vine and everything!
After the vine didn't break under my weight, the Husband thought he would give it a try, WITH THE BABY ON HIS BACK! Thank goodness she was strapped in. She loved it and squealed in excitement!
After "lupper" we toured a battlefield in the area. The Puppy Bean still had enough energy to aggravate his sister.
It was super fun! Thanks again!
