Crabby Bean

When the Husband and I first met, we worked in the same building and he would often tease me about being a crab. He got a sign for my door that said, "The Crab Is In." He also printed up a certificate that was hilariously written naming me the Biggest Crab." It was all pretty funny and now, for some reason, all the crab stuff has been passed on to the Little Bean. She now has the crab sign on the door to her bedroom, etc.
In the spirit of this crabbiness, Auntie K and Uncle Giant sent her a crab plate and cup. (see the photos) The Little Bean was exceedingly pleased by these crabby dining implements and at one point, the child actually clutched both plate and cup to her chest in sheer delight. It was so cute.
Prior to recieving this crabby cup, the Little Bean had never attempted to use a straw. She took to it immediately and had no trouble figuring out the whole concept. The only downside to this is that she now understands what the Husband and I are doing when we get a drink out in town. Today we were at the mall and the Husband got a lemonade. The child would not stop drinking it and wanted to hold it. You can just imagine how this situation ended. So while we are so grateful for Auntie K and Uncle Giant's gifts, we also cursed their names multiple times today.
As I type this blog, the Husband just looked at me and to a bold faced lie! He said, "I didn't know when I married you that you were so book addicted." He said this after moving five or six books that I am reading around the living and dining for the 100th time. The Husband and I dated for THREE years before we got married. He knew!
