Dandelion: Flower or Weed

The Little Bean loves spring as much as I do and she is always pointing out the flowers. Yesterday on our walk to the park, she pointed at some dandelions and I picked on for her. She was so excited! She clutched the dandelion in her hand the entire way to the park, while she played on the various toys, and on the way home. When we got home, the dandelion was a withered mess, but she was still sniffing at it and grinning wildly.
Today, it was much the same. The only difference was that she pointed out every single dandelion we passed on the entire one mile walk and I was expected to aknowledge every single one. Just imagine how many dandelions one sees in a one mile walk.
I didn't have my camera, so I took a few photos with my phone. Each of the photos shows the Little Bean doing a different activity, all the while holding onto her dandelion! The quality of the photos is not the best, but not bad for a cell phone.
I can't wait until she is three or four and insists that her father not mow over the dandelions because they are beautiful flowers. Wonder how he will handle that one! :)
This is by far one of my favorite posts of Spring. To answer your question: as a gift from the Bean (wilted or otherwise) the dandelion is a flower, when they are choking the life out of your yard when you mow - weed.
