The Four Legged Beans

I was trying to get a photo of the Big Bean laying down in the creek. Please disregard the Puppy Bean's tushie!
I haven't posted about the four legged beans in a while, so time for an update. The Big Bean is her normal happy self. She is starting to show her age and doesn't play quite as wildly as she used to, but she is still a happy sweet pup who puts up with tons of annoying behaviors from her brother and sister.
The Puppy Bean is a whole different story. Yesterday, I was so frustrated with him that I didn't know what to do! Here are a few highlights of a two hour time span yesterday:
1. While walking to the park, he refused to heal and refused to sit when we stopped.
2. He tried to chase a squirrel while clipped to the stroller.
3. He rolled in poo.
4. He barked and whined so much at the other people and kids at the park that we had to leave.
5. When we finally got to the wooded area I let him off leash to burn some energy. He ran off and refused to come when called.
6. It took over 15 minutes for me to get him back on leash.
7. When we got back, he sat at the door whining and barking to go outside.
8. He had a major barking fit when the neighbors started to play in their backyard.
I was literally on my last nerve!
I can handle most of the bad behavior, but his not coming when I call him sends me over the edge!
As most of you know, this pup has been something of a challenge. I know that it is a combination of the fact that I tend to forget that the Big Bean wasn't a piece of cake to train, we don't have a fenced backyard, and having the Little Bean makes it harder to be consistent with the pup. Regardless, what I am doing at home is not enough to get this guy under control.
Last night, I gave in and took the puppy bean to DOG SCHOOL! We started the beginner class at Petsmart. The most amazing part of the class last night, was that the Puppy Bean was NOT the worst dog there! There was one other dog that had worse behavior than my boy.
Cross your fingers that this will work out! Maybe if it goes well, I will sign him up for more advanced training. Maybe one day, the wild little Puppy Bean will stop what he is doing and come when I call him.
We love the Beans, two legged and especially four. Be patient with the Puppy Bean, he is a BOY and still a baby. He doesn't mean it, right? And everyone loves the Big Bean, she is such a good girl it is not fair to compare her to her wild and whiny siblings.
