The Zoo
While down visiting with my parents, my mother and I took the Little Bean to the zoo. She had the most fantastic time. We went during the week, so there were not very many people there and we were able to take in the zoo at a leisurely pace. The Little Bean even rode on a camel! Below are a few photos from our little outing.
The Little Bean spent the majority of her time at the zoo in the petting zoo. She absolutely loved the goats and walked around touching each one and then screeching in delight. I think she may have thought that the goats were dogs. She was not interested in the llama or the cow.
When she got sick of either walking or riding in her stroller, she rode on my shoulders.
While watching the apes, she decided that she needed a snack, so we settled down to watch the gorilla and have a fruit snack.
The zoo had this little cage set up for children to get into and peek out. The Little Bean really enjoyed this and giggled out from behind the bars.
The highlight of my day was the camel ride. The Little Bean wasn't all that impressed. She didn't cry or anything, but just rode there like it was no big deal. The baby camels were a bit more exciting for her. She got to feed them. Before she fed them, they tried to reach over the bar and steal the fruit loops that she was munching on. This thrilled the Little Bean to no end.
The zoo had a wonderful kids area with a little cafe. While waiting on the food, the kids could play in this little water play area. Our little girl was in her element! Luckily, we had brought extra clothes because she was dripping wet by the time the food was ready.
She didn't like the macaws very much because they were super loud. Two of them were fighting or mating or something and there was so much squawking going on that you couldn't even hold a conversation near their exhibit.
This is how she looked at the end of the day. That is also how the Gran and I felt!
There is no doubt that the maternal genes are STRONG! I have a profile photo of Uncle Giant that is identical to that of the Little Bean (where she is munching on fruit snacks and enjoying the primate show). The Gran's legacy will live on FOREVER!
