Toy Explosions

Our daughter has a bunch of pretend groceries that she hauls around in her grocery cart and calls "bites." Yesterday she was wearing a little yellow jumper that had a pocket on the front. I noticed that the pocket was bulging and asked her what she had in there. She smiled and giggled and declared, "BITE!" as she whipped out a pretend fried chicken leg. Seriously! My daughter is carrying around a plastic fried chicken leg! She was immensely pleased with herself about the chicken and promptly tucked it back into her pocket and went on about playing.

One thing I have noticed about little kid toys is that they always have about a zillion pieces to them and within 10 to 20 minutes of opening a new toy the pieces are scattered EVERYWHERE! I try (in vain) to keep her toys together and organized, but it is a loosing batttle! We can have everything picked up and organized and within about a milisecond from her waking up and finishing breakfast the toys are scattered ALL OVER the living room.

Exhibit A:
Note the foot pajamas. Fall is definately arriving and the temps were in the 50s last night. This doesn't sound cold, but when we got up this morning and the house tmep was 62 it felt quite chilly to us.

  1. She looks so cuddly! I just want to hug her. I love how she is so used to having her photo taken that she doesn't even look up for the camera anymore :)
