Potty Training Herself?
Is it possible for a child to potty train herself? Seriously! If you guys have been reading for a while you would know that the Little Bean was well on her way to being potty trained at around 15 months. Then she STOPPED! She would have nothing to do with the toilet and would cry when it was mentioned and FREAK out if asked to sit on it. The Husband and I just left it alone. Didn't talk about it or anything, just pretended that there was not such thing as a darn potty.
NOW we have a 180. The Little Bean has decided that she is interested in the potty again. For the past two weeks she tells me when she needs to do number 2 and runs like a crazy monster to the bathroom and does her thing. In the past three days, she has added number 1 to this ritual. BUT it only happens once or twice a day. I haven't been pushing her AT ALL! The only thing we do is that we say "YEAH!" and sing the "Poopie in the Potty" song and dance around. And we allow her to flush the toilet. She thinks that flushing is the COOLEST! That is pretty much it. Whenever we suggest the potty, she balks and refuses to go near the thing, so it seems that letting her take the lead is working. I just wonder how long it will take to graduate from once or twice a day to ditching the diapers?!?!?!
I promise I will take some photos today!
Oh, and we have the big 20 week ultrasound tomorrow morning. Hopefully we will be able to confirm that Future Bean is healthy and normal and all is well. It would also be nice to find out for sure that this is a boy or a girl. Updates tomorrow.
