Behold! The Fearless Ghost Hunter

The Little Bean has decided, in her convoluted logic, that the dog she refers to as "Dadoo" is a fearless ghost hunter. Please bear in mind that Dadoo is the biggest chicken bird of a dog that ever lived! He is mortally afraid of the vacuum, the broom, the mop, any large stick, loud noises, trash bags, and many of the Little Bean's toys. He has even been known to enter into a fit of frightened barking when he sees a leaf falling from a tree. The husband and I believe that the dog has some eye sight problems and sees many of these things as big moving blurs and it freaks him out. Regardless, the Little Bean (and the rest of us) love him to death.

Anyway, the other night Dadoo starting barking all crazy and his hair was standing on end and he ran upstairs, barking all the way. The Little Bean suddenly got all serious and told me that Dadoo was barking at ghosts. Since she has been obsessed with ghosts lately and gets afraid because all noises are ghosts, I thought I would go with her idea of Dadoo. I told her that Dadoo was barking to scare all the ghosts away and since the ghosts were afraid of Dadoo, they were running away from our house. This seemed to go over really well and now whenever the dog barks she runs to me to inform me that Dadoo is scaring the ghosts away. She seems pretty pleased that Dadoo is making the house much less scary these days!
