SCOTLAND

We have been out of communication recently as we have been galavanting around in the land of the Scots. The trip was FANTASTIC! The Daddy was up in Scotland for work and the kids and I joined him for a four day vacation. We started out in Dundee viewing the ships, then headed up to Loch Ness to look for the monster, we then toured a few castles including Stirling Castle where Willian Wallace defeated the English. After climbing an extinct volcano and checking out the city of Edinbourgh we had to return home.

The Husband's co-workers couldn't believe that the kids and I would drive nine hours just to see Scotland. (There is a surprisingly serious rift between the Scots and the English).

Before we left Sophia and I made some heart shaped cupcakes for the Daddy. The decorating part got a little bit out of control as the Little Bean went crazy with the sprinkles and whatnot. The Daddy didn't mind and enjoyed his cupcakes all the same.

We went to see the ship Discovery. This was the first ship to travel into Antartica. The inside of the ship and the exhibit were wonderful. They were super kid friendly and Sophie loved them. She got to load boxes onto a ship with pulley systems, put puzzles together of the ship, and load sheep into the hold. She thought it was great fun.
We were forced to "swab the decks!"

The Little Bean decided she would drive the ship and serve as the Capitan!

Hank was there too, just not in the photos because he was sound asleep. He is not all that impressed with seeing the sights quite yet.

  1. These are GREAT photos, I can't wait to see the rest! You should have put, TO BE CON'T on the bottom. The little Bean is not looking so little anymore...she might have to be the Girl Bean and then Boy Bean, cause that adjective may no longer apply to either. So glad you had a good time and jealous too! I shall live vicariously like many of your followers. XOXO
