Home Again!
We are finally back from a crazy, action filled month in the States. We started the trip with pneumonia and bronchitis and then ended it with a stomach bug that landed two of us in the ER with IV fluids and powerful anti-nausea injections. I think there were maybe two days during the entire month that everyone felt good and healthy at the same time.
We finally finished all the paperwork to bring the puppers over and made the trip! This was Cash's first flight and he was pretty worked up. Daisy is an old pro and quietly lay in her crate awaiting the flight. Upon arrival EVERYTHING went very smoothly and the pups with out of the quarantine and into our car in no more than 15 minutes!!
The pups seem to like it here quite a bit. Cash has gotten into trouble a few times for walking THROUGH the flower beds and peeing on my roses! He also jumped over the wall in front and landed on the road outside. I don't think he knew how far of a fall it was going to be to get to the road. The poor person driving down the road must have been shocked to death to see this gigantic black four legged creature land right in front of their car! We quickly retrieved him and waved sheepishly to the driver. He is no longer allowed out front unless under CLOSE supervision.
Cash, Daisy AND Hank have all tried to get into the pond. The dogs listen better than my son who has "fallen" in about four times now. His falling involves holding onto me, the sister, or the pups and then leaning forward until his feet just happen to slip off the edge of the rock and into the water. "uh-oh!" he says.
We also found two HUGE globs of frog eggs in the pond. Most of them are already full of tiny little black tadpoles. Some of the tadpoles are even hatched and swimming around the pond. We are either going to have about a MILLION frogs or the heron is going to be super fat by the end of the summer.
Unlike the states were winter turned immediately into summer, the springtime here has been more drawn out. For this I am very happy. The garden and along almost every road with a shoulder is FULL of daffodils. In our yard we have daffodils, narcissus, primroses, lilies of he valley, and a whole LOT more which I can't identify.
The only negative thing with the entire process is that the poor Little Bean lost her backpack at the airport. The backpack had all of her most prized possessions in it to include her princesses, favorite shoes, play jewelry, and most upsetting, her blue blankie!! We tried to get in touch with lost and found and had no luck as today is Sunday. Keep your fingers crossed that they have her backpack safely stowed away waiting for us to pick it up.
I guess that is the big update. We plan on taking this next week really slowly and getting over the jetlag and back on schedule. The husband, who is CRAZY, is already stircrazy just thinking about it and wants to plan a zillion outings. We will see how things go.
Pictures to come soon.
