Crazy Days

Today started out as a normal day does. Wake up, build a fire (it is still cold 30s at night), eat breakfast, Daddy goes to work, etc etc. Then suddenly everything went haywire. Cash and Hank were both coming in from the toyroom at the same time and Cash knocked Hank down. His forehead hit the rise in the door jam and split open. Poor guy was bleeding all over. I packed up the little ones and headed off to the minor injury unit at the hospital. Sophia was super helpful, sweet, and protective of her little brother. She got him a blanket and toys and whatnot. It was cute.

After about two minutes the little guy was over it, stopped crying and wanted to play. The nurse at the hospital was so nice. She was completely taken by Hank and his charming ways, calling him Love, Ducky, scrummy (meaning delicious), and all sorts of other British endearments. She decided he didn't need stitches but did put some steri strips on there to keep it together so the scar wouldn't be too bad. She talked about what to watch for in regards to head injuries and then we were off.

On the way home everyone was in such high spirits that we stopped at a place called World of Country Life. It was a fantastic time for the three of us. Poor Daddy was at work.

Inside the farm they had a falconry and bird of prey center. Super neat! The Little Bean got to hold an small owl named Fidget. She was beyond excited and behaved like such a big girl. She rubbed and petting and scratched him under the chin. Fidget was beside himself with enjoyment as well.
She was also allowed to walk a baby goat. His name was Archie, which in England is pronounced, "Aaaa-chie" they don't like to enunciate "r" in the middle of words here. Our friends also make fun of our accent by over enunciation the "r"s.
There were the sweetest little lambs to be petted. There were also big giant bunnies and a mama goat and her tiny little kids. Soph liked the lamb. Hank liked the goats but the mama goat decided he was being too rough with her and pushed him away with her head and horns!! He seemed to get the message.

The kids had so much fun that by the time we got into the car to head home they were asleep before we got out of the parking lot.
Hank is completely over his boo boo and couldn't care less about the steri-strips.
