Goldfish or Pirahnas

(she looks so sweet....)
So there we were....sitting out by the pond.  We recently put a few goldfish in there as the plants are sufficiently mature to give them a place to hide from the heron.  Without thinking (one would imagine I would have gotten better about this as I have been a parent for over four years now) I made a joke about how the kids should be careful around the pond because if they fall in the goldfish would eat them up.

A nano second later we hear a huge splash and see Sophia running away as fast as she can.  Needless to say, she had shoved Hank into the pond.  The fish did not eat him.  In fact, Daddy had him out of the pond so fast the fish wouldn't have gotten a chance even if they were interested in a little nibble.

After taking care of the poor little wet/cold/crying boy, we went in search of his sister.  The punishment:  confinement to quarters (her room) until supper time. (30 minutes)  After her punishment was finished, she had eaten, and had calmed down, she admitted the reason for pushing her brother into the water....She wanted to see if the fish really would him.  nice.

Three days later Hank threw Sophia's baby doll into the pond, this afternoon, he threw her stick horse in for a swim.  Not sure if it is retribution or completely unrelated....probably the former.  Every time we go to feed the fish he tells me, "Hank, no water, no in water!" He also latches on to me like a tick whenever Sophia comes near him at the edge of the pond.
