Beany Updates

I love that she chose the rattlesnake to play with out of the whole mountain of toys she was sitting on.

Some Beany Updates

Walking - The Little Bean is cruising speedily around the furniture, climbing stairs, and even using her belly to balance on things like the coffee table, so she can use both hands to play, or grab things while standing up. I am not sure how much time is usually between cruising and walking, but I think she is going to take off any time now. The only thing she has yet to figure out is standing without assistance. She doesn't seem to have the balance thing figured out yet.

Teeth - Her two front teeth are right at the edge. I can see the little white lines on her gums where the teeth will be pushing their way through any day now.

Communication - Her sign language has slowed down dramatically. Lately, she refuses to make the sign for milk, and replaces signing with screeching, crying, and kicking her arms and legs. Yesterday she sort of waved bye-bye. If you count flailing your arms around as a wave. :) We are still working on the signing.

Sleeping -There is definite improvement in the sleep area. No more screaming and flailing of limbs. Naps are super easy and only require the poncho liner and her crib. She messes around a bit, then curls up on the poncho liner and drifts off to sleep! It is great. Nighttime is a bit harder, but not too dramatic. She still wakes up quite a bit at night, but usually she goes back to sleep after just a minute or two.

The Big Bean is making progress too. She is doing great at tolerating annoyances of the Little Bean. She lets the baby touch her feet, until she gets too rough. Then she just moves away. She also lets the baby take her food. She just stands back and looks very very confused as the Little Bean crawls away with her greenie or rawhide bone. It is sort of funny, and the husband and I always take if from the Little Bean and return it to its rightful owner. The Little Bean has learned how to get into the dog kennel and harasses her sister there. So the dog, who is so smart, has found a new hiding place. She goes up the stairs and lays peacefully on the guest bed. The Little Bean tries to follow her, but gets distracted about halfway up the stairs. So the dog is safe....for now.

Well, that is all. Here are two cute pictures for your viewing pleasure.
