Spider Update

Just so you know, Black Widow Spiders are REALLY REALLY hard to kill. I thought we could just hose them out with the water on super duper jet, but their webs must be made of kryptonite or something. The water had no effect AT ALL! So then, I got a broom, and started sweeping their webs down. But, I still couldn't get up in there where the immortal spiders were hiding.

One particular spider was freakishly resilient. She was living in the grass waterer. So, I hooked the hose to it and turned it on. I let it spray for a while, thinking that the spider would drown and then just get swept out with the water. When I unhooked the hose and looked into the grass waterer SHE CRAWLED RIGHT BY. The water didn't bother her AT ALL!

At that point I dropped the hose, dropped the grass waterer, ran into the house, and slammed the door. The husband laughed at me and then went outside with a can of RAID and took care of the problem. Hopefully this will take care of the problem, even though I feel sad for killing the spiders and also the poor innocent bugs that may have stumbled into the raid.

When he came inside after exterminating three big mama spiders and multiple baby spiders, I asked him if the indestructible spiders had given him the heebie jeebies. He responded that the didn't feel even one single heebie and certainly not a jeebie!

I am pretty sure that tonight, the spiders will all come to kill me and it will be just like a scene from arachnophobia! YIKES!
