Big Girl
The Little Bean is growing up so fast. What the heck is up with that. She is almost a year old and is quickly becoming "Little Miss Independent." She has two new teeth. Today she decided that she would clap her hands. She is also waving hello and bye-bye.
The hand clapping is pretty funny because she doesn't actually make a clapping sound with her hands. She just smacks them together really really hard. Sometimes they don't even make contact as she uses such force and then misses altogether. It cracks me up.
The waving is also pretty funny. She raises her whole are up with it straight out and shakes it up and down.
The Big Bean is happy that the word "gently" is starting to be understood and that that Little Bean is learning to pet her instead of rip out her fur.
I think that walking is going to come soon. I know I say that a lot, but the Little One is really acting like it could happen at any time. She has been standing up with the furniture and then letting go. Each time she does it, she stands for a longer period of time. She is super thrilled with this new discovery.
The independence thing is a bit more of a challenge. The crazy baby has decided that she no longer wishes to be fed by mama or daddy. When we put food in her mouth she spits it into her hand and then feeds it to herself. She is also making repeated attempts to wrestle the spoon from us rather than sit contentedly with her mouth open like a little bird.
We both know that the time is near when she will insist on dressing herself. I envision her coming down the stairs to go to the grocery store dressed in a Halloween costume with a tutu, motorcycle helmet, life jacket and bright yellow galoshes. We have decided that we will let her go to the grocery store however she dresses herself, but will take photos first. :)
Here is the LB eating some raspberries. She isn't quite sure if she likes them or not. That is okay, Daddy will eat them if she doesn't.
Little Miss Independent makes quite a mess feeding herself.
You can see those two front teeth trying to grow in. She is already biting stuff. She bites pieces of her teething biscuit off just like a big girl.
She thinks eating is pretty funny.
