Home Again! Home Again!

We made it safely home last night! While we had an amazing time on our vacation, it is always nice to get home. We spent today doing 5,000 loads of laundry and cleaning the RV so we could return it to the dealer. This evening, we started packing for the next big trip. Since the movers are coming on Wednesday, we have only tomorrow to figure out what we will carry with us as we move across the country. This is pretty tough for a number of reasons.
1. Everything that the movers do not pack up has to fit in the car or be left behind.
2. The Little Bean requires a lot of stuff.
3. The autumn season means that we need more clothes since we don't know what the weather will be like.
4. We are stopping in various places all with different weather and clothing requirements.
5. Our household goods will not be delivered until we find a house, and we have no idea how long that will take.

The Big Bean has already voiced her concerns, since her spot generally shrinks as we continue to shove more and more "last minute" items into the car.

My biggest concern is that before we moved last time I spent a number of days organizing my books by topic and then alphabetized the fiction by the authors last name. The Husband has promised that in our new house the spare bedroom could become my library. It will also have a nice snugly spot where I can escape from everyone and read in peace. I wanted to have all of my books pre-sorted so that I could easily unpack and organize them in "my" room. They are all packed into their boxes which are labeled in detail. Sadly, the guy who came to do our pre-move survey told me that the boxes I had used were too big, so the movers would have to re-pack the books into smaller boxes. My dreams of an organized library in our new home have been crushed. Not really, it will just take a heck of a lot longer to get "my" room just the way I want it.

Anyway, below are the photos that I promised from the hike in Yosemite. The more I read about the places we visited the sadder I get. We missed so much stuff! I know that it would be impossible to see everything in the short time that we had, but I don't know when we will get a chance to come back out West and do all of those hikes we missed. Luckily, the Little Bean is very young and has tons of time to do all of these things. (I really hope she likes the outdoors as much as we do.)

This is the waterfall at the summit of the hike. In autumn the water dries up as the area awaits the winter snows and then the spring thaw.
Here is the Little Bean with her green eyes. That child has the strangest eye color that I have ever seen. Most hazel eyes change from green to brown. Not the Little Bean. Hers change from green to this weird steel grey color. Very strange.
The view from the top of the hike.
Here is the Little Bean with her toast. The birds in the area are as predatory as the squirrels and the bears. They kept swooping down on the baby trying to get her toast. Notice that the Big Bean is standing guard!

  2. The little bean looks a lot like her cousin C, who in turn looks a lot like her Daddy. I guess the S genes run strong!

Sounds like you guys had a great adventure. Cant wait to hear all about it this weekend!
