Birthday Eve

Today was The Husband's "Birthday Eve! " Tonight at midnight, he will be hitting the big 3-0! At that point, he will officially be a cranky old man. :)

Because both the Husband and I are impatient, and because the Little Bean has a doctor's appointment tomorrow that will involve shots, we decided to celebrate on Birthday Eve.

I gave the Husband his gifts and the Beans got him a cake. They had the bakery make a cake and decorate it to look like a desert landscape. Then we bought a kit of little green army men. The Husband got to place the little army men on the cake however he wanted. So the green men are the "good guys" and the one laying down in the Husband being a sniper. They are taking on the whole team of bad guys and will surely win!

If I had known that the Husband was going to enjoy decorating that cake so much, I would have gotten him one on his other birthdays.

Blowing out those thirty candles made a great smoke screen. We pretended it was a smoke grenade.

While I don't approve of babies under the age of 1 having sugar, I made an exception for today and we gave the Little Bean a bit of cake. She made a huge mess and crammed it in her face with both hands. The Big Bean thought it was great because she got to be on clean up crew!
