Growing Pains
Okay, don't send me "hate email." :) This is the only photo I got today. This is what the Little Bean was doing while I made supper.
Today has been a super rough day, and it is only 1300. The Little Bean is getting her fifth tooth and for some reason, this one is causing her a lot of pain. She doesn't want to eat anything, she can't sleep well, and is just super cranky. Poor little baby. I feel just terrible for her and do everything I know to do (orajel, frozen teethers, etc.) but nothing seems to help except for holding her. She is super clingy since she doesn't feel good. She has turned into quite the snuggle bunny.
Yesterday the Puppy Bean had a tough day too! We went for a walk to the park and when we got there, the Beans played and ran and frolicked (The Little Bean fell asleep in her stroller). All was great until it was time to go. The Puppy Bean was too tired to walk home. He would take a few steps, whine and sit down. It was ridiculous. The most ridiculous part was that I HAD TO CARRY HIM HOME! We are talking 4 blocks! A 12 pound puppy gets pretty heavy when you have to carry him in one hand for 4 stinking blocks! I guess I will bring the wagon next time!
The Big Bean continues to amaze me and make me so thankful that she is my girl. She has really warmed up to the other two beans. She plays with the Puppy all the time. They run and growl and romp around. It is great for both of them. She, however, is NOT a snuggle bug. The Puppy tries to lay on her bed and snuggle with her only to be met with a stern growl. He gets the picture pretty easily and wanders off to find his own bed.
With the Little Bean, she is a whole different dog. She now tolerates the baby pulling on her hears, patting her head and generally crawling all over her. When she gets fed up, she gets up and leaves the area. The best thing is that when she has a treat and the Puppy is trying to get it from her, she growls. But when the Little Bean comes over and reaches for it, she immediately lets go and gives whatever she has to the Little Bean. One of the Little Bean's favorite games is to take her sister's treats, then give them back, then take them, then give them back. I let this go on for a few minutes, before I save the dog from her torture and take the baby elsewhere. But the Big Bean's patience is amazing. She is the best dog ever!

Poor Little one and poor you! You could go old school and put some whiskey on her gums :)
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of the Big Bean! She is so smart, I knew she would come around. Congrats to a good Mama for being patient with her first child! Kisses to the Little Beaner, remember that tomorrow is another day. :) Love, K.
