First Ambulance Ride

Last night the Little Bean had her first ambulance ride. While we were sitting on the couch and eating ice cream and watching a movie, the baby started to have a seizure. We knew that it was caused by her high temperature, and were not immediately alarmed...until she started turning blue.

That is when we called 911. The ambulance came just as her seizure stopped.
We spent almost 10hours in the ER. The docs and nurses were great and even though the entire experience was super traumatic for the little girl, she behaved wonderfully. The docs couldn't find anything wrong with her even though they did extensive testing. They know that she is fighting an infection because of her blood work, but can't find any sign of one. They think it is probably viral, but gave us a broad spectrum antibiotic just in case it is bacterial. We are also supposed to keep her fever down with baby tylenol and baby motrin.

She is fine now, and you would never know that she was even sick. She is playing around and being her normal goofball self. She had a great time at the Drs office this afternoon and played with everyone who would give her attention. So long as we keep her temperature down, you can't tell that she is sick at all.

So that was our dramatic night last night. Hopefully, we won't ever have to deal with something like that again. Of course, if we do, we will be much better prepared and will know how to handle events.
