Over Stimulation?
Not sure if anyone has ever wondered about the definition of the term "over stimulation." If so, please come to our house while the Little Bean is on the medication for her fever.
We were instructed to alternate between baby tylenol and baby motrin every three hours. This is an effective way to keep her fever down and ensure that she does not have another febrile seizure. One would think that this medicine would make a baby sleep. When it comes to the Little Bean, one would be WRONG! Giving our little girl that combination of medicine is pretty much the equivalent of giving her straight caffeine.
She has NO need for sleep and refused to take any naps yesterday. All she wants to do is PLAY PLAY PLAY! The caps are necessary here as she isn't just playing like normal. Instead, she is playing as though she is on fast forward, going from one toy to the next as super fast speed. Last night was pretty rough as she was completely exhausted, but unable to go to sleep. Mama and Daddy took turns staying up with her and giving her the medicine as required.
Now that we are giving her the medicine every four hours, she seems to be able to sleep a little bit better. She even took two naps today. This ensured that Mama and Daddy could get some sleep too!
She still acts as though she isn't a bit sick. She has a bit of a stuffy nose and nothing else. The only good thing about this nasty episode is that she feels good. She has no idea she is sick.
Hopefully things will be better tonight and we can post some photos and funny stories tomorrow.
That's how her cousin S acts on Benadryl! I hope she's back to normal by now ;)
