Gypsy Girl

When we got the Little Bean from the gypsies, they never told us that at 15 months she would be able to defeat every child safety gadget in the house. They also didn't tell us that she would be able to climb from the floor, onto a chair, and try and reach things on the table. I am not sure when all of this happened, maybe when I blinked yesterday, but she has figured out all sorts of new stuff. She can open the front door, she can pull the safety covers off the electrical outlets, and she can climb almost anything. Her latest trick is to throw things in the garbage can. This can be helpful when I need her to throw things away like a diaper or piece of paper or something, it is not so helpful when she throws all of the dog's toys into the garbage can. We are working on distinguishing what is trash and what is not.
The funniest thing is that she knows when she is doing something wrong. Yesterday, she was holding a toy of the dog's water bowl. She is constantly in trouble for playing in the dog water. I chose to ignore her behavior, but she yelled and grunted and made all sorts of noise until I looked at her, then...THEN..she smiled, this impish little smile at me. It was like she wanted me to catch her doing something bad and tell her no. As soon as I told her no, she dropped the toy and walked away. Maybe she likes the drama of getting fussed at, maybe she just thought she needed more attention, I don't know.
