16 Months Old

The Little Bean is 16 months old today! She is quickly becoming a big girl, but still has her baby moments, like when she is not feeling well.
Height: 29 inches (5-10th percentile)
Weight: 20 lbs (5th-10th percentile)
Teeth: 11 (still missing that bottom from tooth)
--She is very into mimicking adult actions. She likes to touch the nail clippers to everyone's toes and pretend to cut our nails. She washes her own hair, belly, and arms. I can't say that she gets clean, but she sure tries. She pretends to eat from a toy bowl with a toy spoon. She also brushes the dogs with their special brush. This activity generally turns into her hitting the dogs with their brush, I try to step in before we get to that point. She is so cute whenever she is doing her big girl things because she is so serious about it.
--The only thing that I have read about that she is not doing is nurturing baby dolls. She doesn't really care for her baby dolls or her stuffed animals. She has two that sleep in her crib with her and she gets pretty upset if they aren't there, but when they are there, she totally ignores them. Not sure what that is all about.
--She has learned to kick and throw a ball. Kicking is apparently way more fun than throwing.
--She climbs on EVERYTHING. From the kitchen chairs, to the bin that holds the dog food, to the dogs themselves. She is always climbing!
--She still loves to do "ring around the rosie" and yesterday she "fell down" when she was supposed to. It was pretty cute.
--Speaking of falling down. She LOVES to play on my bed and will stand up and then just let herself fall down backwards. This illicits hysterical laughter. Unfortunately, she didn't know that this was a bad game for sick little girls. She did it once yesterday and then looked pretty shaken. It must have made her head hurt worse.
--She mimics me when I am telling the Puppy Bean to lay down or stay. She puts her hand in his face and grunts with the same stern voice I use to tell give him a command.
Little bean, you must grow, your baby cousin is catching up to you! She was 27 inches, 18.5 lbs at her 9 month appt ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope you're going to frame that picture of Little Bean and her daddy; it is beautiful!
