Headed Home

We are currently driving back home. Sometimes a six hour drive seems like nothing and sometimes it seems like an eternity. This is one of those times that feel as though the more we drive, the more we have to drive.

The visit was quite nice and the dogs enjoyed running all over the fields of my parent's place. The Puppy Bean is so long and goofy, he just lopes all over the place and he can run so fast. He stretches his super long legs out and can really cover some ground. The fields are so green and there is mustard blooming bright yellow all through the fields, then you have the shiny black dog running and popping his head up every few hundred feet. It would have been a beautiful photo with all the contrasting colors. But you will just have to imagine it since we didn't have the camera and didn't take any photos of it.

We did have a very dramatic experience that had everyone worried. We were all outside getting ready to grill and relax, when one of those wild spring storms rolled in. The thunder was rolling and the wind was blowing. We all thought it was wonderful, except for the puppy Bean. The thunder scared him and he stretched out his long legs and just ran and ran! We saw him dissapear. Everyone thought he would come back ater the storm blew over, but he never did. We waited and waited, then we started to get worried. I went out walking in the rain calling and whistling, the husband went out driving and the Little Bean stayed with her grandparents. We all came back empty handed. Finally after about a thousand hours of waiting and worrying, the Gran found her little granddog! He had found a way to wiggle into a hole under the house and had been hiding! She let him in the house and he came in with his face all covered in cobwebs.

My father was convinced that the Husband and I had planned the whole thing and that the Puppy Bean would show up at their house just after we had left to drive back to our house! He thought we were plotting to ditch the pup with him!

  1. I am relieved for all that the Puppy Bean is safe although very much a chicken. :) LOVE the top photo of the Bean, that one is a keeper. Looks just like her Mama.
