A New Kind of PT
While I am super glad to have left the desert behind and to have moved to a place where there is loads of green, there is a part of this lovely green life that I did not anticipate. Mowing the grass. As you may remember from the photo of our house, we have a huge wonderful yard...and the grass in that yard grows FAST!
Because I want to go hiking this weekend rather than mowing the grass, I decided to get to the mowing today. One puppy, one frisbee crazed dog, and a one year old make mowing a pretty interesting experience. We have a nice bagger mower which is great, but the down side of this is that you have to empty the bag every couple swipes around the lawn. This wouldn't be so bad, except that I have to start the lawnmower each time I empty the bag. It wasn't too much of a big deal this morning when I started, but by the afternoon, my arm was tired and it took a couple of tugs each time to get the thing going. I have a feeling I will be sore tomorrow.
I started mowing when the Little Bean was down for her morning nap and got quite a bit finished before she woke up. Then, after lunch, she hopped in the backpack and I carried her with me while I mowed. Now, I like PT and to go running and whatnot, but pushing a mower around the yard while toting 30lbs of kid and pack is a WHOLE NEW KIND OF PT! :)
The Husband and I took the kids (dogs are kids too) on a great run yesterday. It was a nice path that went into the woods so we let the pups go off leash. They were so well behaved! They stayed right with us and neither of them fell out of the run. The best part was the half way point. It was a little stream that everyone splashed in before heading back. We took the Little Beans pants off while she was splashing so she wouldn't get all crazy wet.
ok where is the picture of you mowing the yard with all the beans in tow?
