Moonshine

The Little Bean's obsession with the moon can possibly be traced back to her obsession with my parent's dog, Moonshine. This dog is so laid back that the Little Bean is free to climb on her, sit on her, comb her hair, look at her teeth, etc. The only reaction from the dog is to either lick her or roll onto her back in hopes of a belly rub. The Little Bean examines her feet (most dogs HATE that), looks at her ears, everything. She even declares that Moonshine has boo boos when she find a rough patch of skin on her elbow. It is only a matter of time before she is putting band-aids on the poor dog.

Anyway, Moonshine has some allergies and skin issues that leave her pretty miserable during the season changes and the only way we can keep her from scratching herself to shreds is to give her meds and wash her at least once a week with special shampoo. The Little Bean was all too eager to help with Moonshine's bath!

On a different note, the Little Bean also thinks there is a connection between the dog Moonshine and polar bears. My mom got a 2009 calendar of polar bears recently and the Little Bean informed us that those were not polar bears, but instead Moon Bears. I really don't know where she comes up with this stuff.
