Helper Helperton

The Little Bean is all about helping these days! She wants to stir EVERYTHING. No matter what we are cooking, she will drag a chair over from the dining room and position herself so that she can "help." This morning she was helping the Daddy make pancakes and decided that the batter was not thick enough and started pouring more mix into and around the general vicinity of the bowl, leaving a pretty impressive mess for her father to clean up.
In these photos she is helping me to make french toast. She stirred the eggs while I put the Cinnamon and vanilla extract in. She also got some bread out of the bag for me, but I had to step in there because the bread was coming out in small handfuls rather than slices. She even had to closely supervise the cooking of the french toast. The best part of this new insistence on helping is that she likes to help set the table. She will put a fork, plate, and spoon or bowl (whichever she deems appropriate) at each place setting. As she does it, she says, "One, Daddy. One, Mama," etc. I think it is the cutest thing.
