Prep Time

This is how Soph and Daddy "play" at the beach. What a bunch of weirdos! She thought it was the COOLEST!
We are currently (and have been) preparing for our big EU roadtrip/camping adventure. We are really looking forward to it, but there is lots of logistics to figure out. The least of which is the EU dog passports, deciding between ferry or chunnel, getting tickets to Disneyland Paris, making sure we have all the required car stuff for each of the countries we plan to visit, and figuring out what to bring for the kiddos for car entertainment, snacks, camping, and various weather clothes.

The Husband and I fondly remember backpacking through India, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan where we just jumped on a train with our packs and passports....no complicated logistical planning, no checklist for the van, no giant bag of car toys, games, snacks, diapers, extra clothes, movies, and special blankies! How things have changed...for the better! :)

The route should go something like this:
England
France - Disneyland
Luxembourg
Belgium
Germany
Czech Republic
Austria
Switzerland
France
Home

We are sticking to the semi-spontaneous "get there and see" hotel/campsite planning as we find it much less stressful than the "if it is Friday we must be in Austria" sort of planning. We shall see how it works out.

Comm will be extremely limited as the internet and phone charges in the EU are ridiculous for UK companies. Example: 1 mg = 3 pounds sterling = $4.50. CRAZY. I will try and update the blog from the free wifi at McDonalds or maybe if they have free wifi at the campsite. we will just have to wait and see.

As for the photos today, we have proof that our children truly can play TOGETHER without violence...for at least five minutes.

  1. Just look for the orange Easy Everything internet cafe signs. Depending on the current traffic inside, one Euro gets you a lot or a little time to type. It works great and no need to drag the laptop around. If you need a day indoors and the exchange rate is good, the Hotel Santa Fe near Disneyland Paris is good. They have a shuttle to and from the park, great dinner food, and live entertainment the kids would love. Not to mention Disneyland Paris. Warning, the popcorn has sugar on it, not salt.
