Our Friend T
T came to visit a few weeks ago and we had an awesome time! T stopped in here on the way home from a year tour in Afghanistan. We were super happy to see her, and she was super happy to be out of "the war." Of everyone, Cash was the happiest to have here at the house. He could not get enough love and attention from her and she felt the same way, well except for all the face licking.
We took her out to see the sights and as a castle was on her list, we were happy to oblige. We faithfully followed the Garmin into the winding roads of a tiny seaside village when the road suddenly turned into the English Channel! We looked at the Garmin and it said, "Ferry." The ferryman waved us aboard and the next thing we knew a little tugboat was pulling us and a few other cars across the River Dart/English Channel estuary.
Sophia was really really scared and came up to sit on my lap. By the time we were across, she was ready to do it again.
One of the options we did not choose to partake of at the cafe...duck burger.
A really old man with an even older yellow lab told us about a trail leading down to a hidden cove. He was worried about the kids and the uneven, steep, and slippery trail/steps. The kids, T and I all loved it and were rewarded with the coolest little cove and a dramatic view of the water crashing against the rocks.
We had a wonderful time and can't wait to see T again, except that she has moved to the wrong coast. :)
