Road Trip - Day 3
Thursday was spent on the road. We had to drive the 14 hours between Vegas and Yellowstone. We drove up through Utah, Idaho, Montana, and into Wyoming. We have never been to Idaho, Montana or Wyoming before, so we were pretty excited. See photo below.
We were also excited that the potatoes we had brought from CA were originally from Idaho. It was like we were bringing them home. The Husband is really good at getting to do stupid stuff on camera. See photo below of me bringing the potatoes back to their home.
Driving 14 hours in the Gypsy Wagon is way different than doing it in our car. The driver can sit up front and listen to whatever they want, and the passenger can go in the back, and sit (with seat belts on) on the couch, or even lay down. This morning while the Husband was driving, I lay in the back reading my book. He can listen to his music as loudly as the deaf old man wants and it doesn't bother me in the back.
We finally got to Yellowstone after dark and found a camp site. While driving to our campsite, we were accosted by crazy animals. First, there was a giant bison in the road. Rather than share the road, he stood directly in front of the Gypsy Wagon, staring at us, and daring us to go forward. We waited patiently until he got bored and wandered off. A few miles down the road we saw an elk with huge gigantic antlers. Then we saw a couple of deer, a fox, and finally, my favorite; we saw a giant fat PORCUPINE! He was so cute and fat!
