Road Trip - Day 4
This is a photo of Old Faithful. Just ignore the heads, they have nothing to do with the Geyser.
This guy was just laying in the dust beside the road.
Friday –
Because we arrived at the park so late last night, we didn’t get a campsite where we could hook the power up to the RV. We just got a regular site. This would have been okay, except that the temps were down in the 30s. I was FREEZING! The Husband had the Little Bean and slept comfortably underneath a warm blanket and a poncho liner. I had the Big Bean and was FREEZING under three blankets. The Big Bean was so cold that she crawled underneath the blankets with me. Then, we woke up and started our crazy busy day. Yellowstone is unbelievably beautiful. We drove all around and stopped at the different sites and hiked a bit to some of the more remote sites. We saw Old Faithful, things called mud pots, paint pots, waterfalls, hot springs, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, lakes, and all sorts of beautiful scenery. We also saw loads of wildlife. There were herds and herds of bison. Some who crossed the road with their entire herd, taking their sweet time while traffic piled up on either side. It was super cool. The Big Bean didn’t even notice, or if she did, she was afraid to bark at them, since she knew she was out numbered. I recommend that anyone who plans to be in this area at least drive though Yellowstone. It was absolutely amazing. We would definitely like to come back here when we have more time to stay and we can hike, kayak, climb, etc.

Great pics! So admit it, the Northern Rockies are the most beautiful part of the U.S. :) Sorry you froze, but I did warn you.....:) MJ
ReplyDeleteGreat photos but as I look at them I wonder if P & S are supposed to be that close to the geyser with no barrier between them?
