Still a blur

The pics are all on the earlier post. Sorry

It was so cold last that no one slept well. As soon as we were allowed to, we fired up the generator and turned the heat on. The Husband made pancakes for breakfast and even though the night was rough, the day started out better as we all enjoyed the pancakes.

We took off and drove south down into Yosemite Valley. We broke the rules and let the Big Bean swim in the creek. She was so excited and swam and swam even though the water was super cold. Karma got us and the Husband lost his wallet at the river. We didn’t realize it until we got down into the valley and were getting ready to go on a hike. Luckily, the Park Rangers found it and after a number of phone calls, managed to track us down. We were all so relieved to have the wallet back that we didn’t notice that we also lost all of the Husband’s road trip CDs as well. So sad.

That afternoon we went for a hike with both of the beans. On the way back we saw a black bear on the trail. I took the baby and the dog back down the trail, while the Husband went up to take a photo of the bear. I was concerned that if the Big Bean barked at the bear it would cause problems. After the bear wandered into the woods, we caught up with the Husband, and he took the beans, while I walked into the woods to get a photo of the bear. He was so cute, and didn’t care much about people at all. He was just doing his bear thing and snacking on some berries.
Don’t get me wrong, though, I still believe that when provoked, bears can be mindless killing machines. That is why we opted to not get too near this one.

The Little Bean would like me to mention that she is getting her two front top teeth. When she laughs we can see one of them clearly, the other one is catching up. She also wants everyone to know that she has been standing up without holding on to anything lately. This doesn’t last too long. Just a few seconds, but she is definitely making an effort to be an independent stander.
